CLASS B
RV
What
exactly is a 'Class B
RV'?
It is a motorhome, but of a slightly smaller size than
those huge, house-like RV's you see lumbering down the
highway. A Class B RV is usually recognizable by having a
bus-like front end, attached to the familiar large,
square body of a motorhome. Some models are fully as
large as regular motorhomes, but generally they are a
mid-sized RV, smaller than a regular RV but larger than
truck/camper combos and larger than camper vans.
Technically, camper vans are small Class B RV's also,
though the term 'camper van' is more common in the UK
than in North America.
The Class B RV's blow away
the competition in their 'middle path'; they are
small enough to be more versatile than large RV's, have
better handling, yet they have almost all
the luxuries and utilities of their larger
cousins; most of them actually have kitchens,
washrooms with showers, living areas, possibly a
bedroom, and sleep many people. Many more
features than any small, stuffy, campers that usually
don’t have room for this many people and rarely have
showers, if even a toilet. You can use the Class B RV on
really long trips and be fully as comfortable as with a
larger RV, and yet it is cheaper on gas and more
maneuverable in hard-to-drive-to areas.
Below: A
selection of different kinds of Class B RV's. Top left is
the most standard, recognizable shape of the Class B, and
others range from larger to smaller, vans, even streamlined
space-age looking models.

The Class B RV's are so much easier to
drive and navigate through traffic than any large
motorhomes or travel trailers, yet they have all the same
features. This includes sleeping room, showers, eating
and cooking facilities. All this in a compact RV that is
super easy to load and has plenty of extra stand-up head
room. Use the Class B RV to tow your favorite toys, or
even a camping trailer or family car!
Extra-winterized versions of the Class B
RV are also available, for year round RVing. This
includes a furnace, extra insulation, double-glazed
windows and heated tanks.
Travel in luxury with the Class B RV, if
you want something a little smaller and easier to handle
than a full RV, yet still want all the
comforts.
